The eyes of dogs and cats are beautiful and wonderfully complex, but easily damaged in many ways that can be reduced in severity and sometimes even prevented if “caught” early in the disease process, or before ocular tissues even begin to be injured.  Dr. McCalla is passionate about reducing the risk of damage to the eyes of animal at high risk for ocular disease, by educating owners to help them make the best pet healthcare decisions and by helping veterinarians expand their knowledge about veterinary ophthalmology.

Dr. McCalla lives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with her husband and three cats. Their son has autism, which has transformed his parents into advocates for all beings in our Animal Kingdom without a voice. All pets and their owners deserve to live their best lives together.
